In this page, we will explain the basic fundamentals of the Tag Manager feature and discuss some advanced options.

First, let’s take a look at what the Tag Manager screen looks like:

As you can see, we have 4 tags associated with this video, differentiated by color coding and description into the following categories.

• Standard tag – In this example, we can see the tag “Animals” is a Standard tag. The description section of a Standard tag will list all translations and tags associated with this tag.
• Redirect tag – In this example, the tag “Animal” is a Redirect tag. The description section of a Redirect tag will list the best suggestion in order to make the Redirect tag into a Standard tag. More about redirect tags in a bit.
• Ambiguous tag – In this example, the tag “Jaguar” is an Ambiguous tag. The description section of an Ambiguous tag will show a drop down menu, allowing you to choose the specific meaning of the tag (A jaguar is either a cat, or a car).
• Unknown tag – In this example, the tag “Aniamal” is an Unknown tag. The description section of an unknown tag is empty, but allows you to enter the definition of the tag in question.

So now that we know the basic and understand what each tag means, let’s understand how to define tags of our own.

For this example, let’s say that I would like to make the Unknown “Aniamal” tag into a redirect tag that will lead to the Standard “Animal” tag.

First, we click on the “Add description” link in the right side corner of the Unknown tag.

The following screen should open up:

In here we have three primary options represented in tabs at the upper portion of the screen:

• Standard tag – Convert the Unknown tag into a Standard tag, adding a description to define it.
• Redirect – Convert the Unknown tag into a Redirect tag, adding the tag you would like this tag to redirect to and an explanation of the said reason.
• Disambiguation – Convert the Unknown tag into a disambiguous tag, adding the various options and a brief description of each.
